The Modern Jazz Guide by Blaine Fallis

Blaine has designed a very smart site dedicated to Modern Jazz. At it you'll find a section entitled Best of the Net, which contains modern Jazz bios, interviews, and discographies as well as a list of home pages for modern Jazz artists. You can also read a few of his articles, like "Jaco," and "Herbie Hancock's The New Standard and how not to critique it." His current musicians workshop is on "Computerizing your Practice Time" and includes a few original MIDI samples.
