Album Description

Flute master Bobby Ramirez breaks free on this new instrumental production simply entitled "Jazz Flute" presenting a collection of American Jazz standards adding a new dimension of musical energy to these timeless Jazz masterpieces. The first tune "All Blues" pays homage to the legendary Miles Davis while laying down a furious flute solo amidst a rapid-fire Jazz-Swing tempo, featuring Peruvian Jazz pianist Kiki Sanchez. Next is another classic Miles Davis tune entitled "Someday My Prince Will Come." Bobby’s flute contributes to the gentle ambiance that is also captured by a cast of seasoned pro musicians, including: Jose Velasquez on acoustic bass; and Ivan Velasquez on drums, both from Venezuela. "Stella by Starlight" is a jazz standard written by Victor Young that showcases a piano/flute duo featuring internationally renowned Grammy Nominee pianist from Puerto Rico, Jose Negroni; also is founding member of the award winning band, Negroni's Trio. Coming back with a Jazz waltz style titled "Bluesette" is the classic song by the iconic musician from Belgian, Toots Thielemans. This track was added from a recent live performance at the Bienes Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, featuring Ryan Ellis on piano, bassist Rick Doll, and Ivan Velasquez on drums. Ramirez brings to life on solo flute another classic standard "It Might as Well Be Spring" by Rogers & Hammerstein. Next, Bobby returns to the Jazz quartet with a wonderful Jazz ballad rendition of "When Sonny Gets Blue" composed by Jack Segal. And finally the set ends with Dizzy Gillespie's classic composition, "A Night in Tunisia, this time featuring the pianist from Venezuela, Antulio Mora.
